I was inspired to write the Amenta series because I once lived in a haunted house.

When I was 19, I lived in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Some pretty weird events took place in that old attic apartment

I have been telling (and embellishing) this story to my 8th grade English students every Halloween for years.
